Broadening the definition of leadership.

The Calcagno Scholarship awards U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen funding to pursue immediate graduate education, fostering academic and diplomatic excellence at the onset of the scholars’ careers, with inclusive perspectives at its core.

The future of our Armed Services’ and greater U.S. government’s thought leadership requires a broad coalition of identities in the 21st century. The goal of this scholarship is to expand opportunities to those with underrepresented identities, and their allies, at the U.S. Naval Academy who are seeking robust graduate education.

Why choose the Calcagno Scholarship?

Future leadership must be comprised of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Calcagno Scholars demonstrate their leadership, now and propensity for the future, in diversity, equity, and inclusion across race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, & socio-economic status, among other factors. Their essence is to challenge the status quo.
